________________________________________________________________________________
saturday was the 29th of march on your new post you say you stopped at the KOA in adel Ia. funny thing is it's not open then?????? not till 4-1-08 did it open???
and you say you where at home then .......
this should show you that this is a very poor place to deal with..........
but im sure Austin (lol) will have a really good response to this
RE: New Jayco via RV Direct / Des Moines RV - Delivery Report
I know a way to put all this to rest,,,, and to verify that you are who you say you are?
how about giving us the vin # off your trailer it will only tell us where the camper was sold ,to what dealer and the date it went out to the customer
RE: New Jayco via RV Direct / Des Moines RV - Delivery Report
Rumor has it the person who complained was another RV dealer whose lot is about two miles north of Des Moines RV.
funny you brought that up,,,,I live in the area and when shopping for a trailer none of the other salesmen brought up any rumors and you know salesmen,,, they love to bash the competition
HMMMMMM interesting
RE: New Jayco via RV Direct / Des Moines RV - Delivery Report
when we where looking we went to DM rv and found it to be a big disappointment the sales man only wanted to show us units they had in stock and not what we where looking for in a floor plan,,,,, he told us if we found a better price they would beat it( even advertise it in the paper ) when we showed back up with a price from a rv dealer in Polk City ( small town north of DM ) he turned around and walked away from us,,,also read something in the des Moines paper that they where in some kind of trouble with the city on zoning and advertising they do consignment sales ( cant do it in Iowa ) and can loose your dealers lic. for doing it. To me it was kind of a shady place
RE: Mako by Gulf Stream?
We just bought a 08 Streamlite 30qbss, I too was amazed how much nicer the Gulf Stream units looked inside and out plus options other didn't offer,,,compared to other units in there price range it became a no brainer for us.
ELLSBERRY RV " WOW WHAT A DEALER "
Well we did it bought a 2008 Streamlite 30QBSS, It will be in 6 weeks from now, we where treated so well at Ellsberry RV, best prices we could find any where, even beat the internet guys best price ( said he can always get more ) we paid 16,500 for a 30' 10'' bunk house we saved 4,000 over any of the other local dealers and it was our first choise of units. If you looking and in the midwest give them a call and save
why such a differance in sight's
we are just getting started on looking at differant TT, but when asking about differant mfg's on this sight we get told rockwoods, flagstaff and jayco are the only way to go and stay away from gulf stream, coachman, fleetwood, k-z ?????? but when we go to rvusa its just the opposite ?? are these differant sights sponsored by the manufactures ? or the dealers that sell that brand ?
I know i was not treated well at the local jayco dealer here in des moines ( only wanted to sell me what he had in stock ) and walk away from us when i told him what we where quoted from another dealer.
the rockwoods we liked, but not for 4000 more than others we like as well and only a 1 year warranty
we also like the gulf breeze 29 trb and the streamlite 30qbss 2-year warranty, great price on these,,, the dealer realy pushes the crowned roof, is that a big deal? it makes sence but why dont more do it? and why such a bad rep. on this sight and nothing but great on the other?
after looking at all these units i realy dont see a "big" differance in any of them,, they all could be better made,
we will be going to another show this weekend, maybe something will stand out and catch our eye there
RE: shopping and comparing ( MODE ) have questions
we live near Des Moines ( ankeny ) looked at there web sight they where asking more for used units than I can get a new one for, but will call them and let them know it's a cash deal and they have one shot at my business. saw that in a post on here (gets there attention) lol
RE: Looking at new travel trailers ( question )
thank you all for replying, one thing I for got to mentioned is we will be pulling it with a 02 1/2 ton Chevy 4x4 lt. z71 w/tow package x-cab. we have decided on the light weight fiberglass sided units to save on weight and it needs to be a bunk house, other than that were on the hunt. we looked last night at Internet dealers, but don't think they have all that great of prices.
can anyone tell me some prices that they paid for there's ? so I can compare it to what we have been quoted
thanks
RE: Looking at new travel trailers ( question )
we have looked at the jayco and have heard good things about them but the dealer was only interested in selling us the ones he had instock (mostly alum. skinned units) or used or was 2 - 3 thousand more but advertise they will beat anyone's price... we where upfront and showed him the quoits we have got so far and he just walked away? so my first impression was not a good one
shopping and comparing ( MODE ) have questions
we are in the shopping and comparing mode,, I see alot of people checking on certaint lines of trailer but i dont see any prices that they have been quoted ? so far we have been quoted many differant prices for the same unit or ones with the same floor plan? so far these are the ones we feal where the biggest bang for the buck.
what do you guys think ?
Streamlite 25bh $14900 instock or special order
Streamlite 30qbss $15900 instock or special order
Gulf Breeze 29tbr $ 16200 instock or special order
some dealers had deals close to this but where 06 or 07 left overs
why do some dealer charge more if you special order?
why dont more trailers come with a crowned roof ?
why is there so many with a 1 year warranty ?
thank you for your time

RE: Whats the best BH TT 25-29 feet in the lite range
we are looking for a unit in that style also, so far the best bang for the buck we have found is Streamlite 25bh 14900 , streamlite 30qbss 15900 and the Gulf breeze 29trb 16200 but we are still on the hunt
RE: jayco vs dutchman vs surveryor
we are also in the trailer shopping mode, we live near Des Moines, talked with all of the dealers in our area (not impressed )very pushy,,,, we did find a small town rv dealer ( Ellsberry RV ) in Polk City, just north of Des Moines, has some really nice units ( not alot of them ) but his prices are at or below the internet guys, say's he can always get new campers so why not sell them at a great price.... so far he's been the nicest to deal with, but we are not rushing things and are whating for the shows.
how about those Drake Bulldogs,,,,,
RE: RV Wholesalers
I have just joined this forum and haven't bought yet, I see post that say they saved 5 to 10 grand ? from the prices I have got here local there's only a few hundred dollars different when you count in the freight
RE: Starting to look at a New TT
wow thanks for the reply's, we have looked at the 2607 and it does have a huge bathroom but im not a big fan of the back storage, had some friends that had a camper with that type of back storage and had a lot of problems with the doors going bad. another question I have is there a big advantage to having a crowned roof ? was reading another post on snow loads? would a crowned roof be better for that?
